Just an idea...

If someone could pass along to the band director and/or Drum majors that after halftime, while still on the field, it would be so awesome if the band would turn and face our side as they play Cherokee, instead of the opponent's.    They get to hear it loud the entire game, and at times we can not hear it at all.  In fact, if they turned and faced our crowd while in the stands, at least we could clap in time!  Saturday, we could not hear the band at all, and we were in section 111, on the 40-45 yd. line.

We have such an awesome band.  It would just be nice to be able to hear what they play while in the stands.

Good idea, but I think in part, that facing the opposing team is a good idea too.  As for the Alamodome, in an enclosed venue and of that size it is always going to be hard for everyone to hear the band unless they are on the field and/or facing our fans.  It was like that at the Astrodome and Reliant Stadium too.  The alternative solution to that would be for the band to sit in the middle of the fans at the games.  Sorry, but I can't go along with that idea cause my sister's seats on the 50 yard line are awesome.  Maybe an idea for away games, but I think most places have the bands facing each other.  Kind of like a battle of the bands.

I agree totally.  I know that this has been a concern for awhile.  Please call the band instructors and let them know! We have a wonderful band and everyone needs to hear them

I could be wrong on this but I asked the same question when my daughter  was an Indianette, my wife said they (both teams) have to face the Home side.  If she knew what she was talking about, I don't know - but that's what she said.

I understand what and when you are talking about now.  In that instance, I think they may be addressing the team.  All of my nephews have told me that when they were playing that they were "in the zone" so to speak and didn't hear much except for what is being said on the field.  If that is true, the team for the most part, doesn't hear the band during the game.  The only time the team really "hears" CHEROKEE is on entering the field at the beginning of the game, after half time on enterying the field and after the game.
