Yes I realize football season is just barely underway BUT, there is only approximately 11 weeks until we break out the roundballs and hit the hardwood! While I am an extremely dedicated PNG Football fan, I will be forced to miss a few games this year due to some circumstances that are beyond my control. And this has somehow allowed my mind (which is normally in a strange football trance about now) to wander onto the subject of Basketball. It's all good since it's for a really good cause! Anyway, for those of you who know me, you know I really really really LOVE indian basketball and I just know there are others out there with similar feelings. So I wanted to make sure those folks who are "jonesing" for the sounds of the gymnasium like me realize that there is only 77 days to the date we should play our first game!!! I have an inside scoop that tells me our kids will be ready to kick ... uhm uh
ready to play!

does anyone know if the  Coach Able is planning on a youth camp like the ones some other schools have?  My son plays Little Dribblers the coaches are good folks and are to be commended for their volunteerism but something tied to PNGBB would be nice.

Should be 76 days now. I really hope I am not right about the date of the first game because I was notified of a business trip I am supposed to be on for three days exactly when we would play that game. My throat is already getting sore!

only 56 days to go. There are a few signs in the air. It's beginning to cool off just a bit in the evening and before you know it the leaves will be turning colors to escort in ROUNDBALL!!!!

I know! I am just really excited about this year's roundball team and the potential they will have! I will list a few of the players who are coming back to the team with varsity experience for yall.

Dylan Richards - 3rd year varsity
Travis Miller - 2nd year varsity
Conner Manuel - 2nd year varsity
Vic Sampson - 2nd year varsity
Brennan Doty - 4th year varsity
Scott Pelligrin - 2nd year Varsity
Jayce Nelson - 2nd year varsity

We will be a VERY competitive team this year!!! COUNT ON IT!!!

I really am into football too by the way, but as yall know my son plays basketball and is a member of the track team so I guess my parental pride just kicks into overdrive when those two seasons roll around!  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Just kidding.  We all know the joke/implication of beginning basketaball season.  It generally means your football season is over.  And you didn't go as far as you wanted in the playoffs if at all.

Dylan is a peer tutor in my youngest child class and they didn't believe me when I told them about how tall Dylan is.  What a fine young man you and your wife have raised.

I know your kidding and believe me< I can take it. I am all too familiar with the standing joke about the beginning of basketball season. But that is only for the football players!  ;)  I really do hope you fellas will help to support basketball this year, even if it is only through this board.

Thank You!! NDN NATION

We are very proud of Dylan and our daughter Mackenzie too, who is a sophomore this year at the reservation.

Also, Mrs. Benson was Dylan's first grade teacher when he went through there.

By the way, here is something about Dylan not many people know yet. He has been recieving recruiting letters and telephone calls for over a year now from schools throughout the country because of his ability in High Jump. Just yesterday, he committed to Texas A&M!! For those of you who don't know, the Aggies are the Track and Field National Champions for the past two years in a row! Both indoor and outdoor and BOTH men's and women's teams! He will be joining the BEST program in the NATION!

Congratulation to Dylan!  I have been knowing him for years and he is a good guy (also a funny guy).  Texas A&M is lucky to get him.
