Playoff Series with San Marcos - Baseball
« on: May 10, 2010, 05:30:12 PM »
Contrary to what you may have heard – we will be playing at Morton Ranch High School (Katy area) Thursday at 7 PM and Friday at 4 PM.  If a third game is needed it will follow 30 minutes after the 4 PM game.  The series was moved out of Bryan due to no hotel room due to A&M graduation.

According to that video, Sport Guy Mike at Channel Six said PNG beat Kingwood Park last week!  I guess Galena Park is glad to hear they didn't lose.

Game 2,  after 2 innings 1-1.  Rain delay.  Radar does not look good.

Indians and Rattlers boarded busses and headed to Barbers Hill.  If the game cannot be played out, PNG will advance according to new UIL rules.  If Nederland cannot play tomorrow afternoon, Buda Hayes will advance. Weather was a mess with lots of lightening at Katy.  Go, Indians!

We are now scheduled to play (I guess a continuation of Game 2 - I don't guess we would start Game 2 over) today at noon at Baytown Sterling.

Looking at radar on Cable Channel 365, it doesn't appear that the rain coming from the West will be past Baytown by noon.  I wouldn't be too surprise that we will have to move West to find a place without rain.  But again I guess we can play in rain if there is no lightning.

The score is still 1-1 but we did get another inning (3rd) in today.  At the beginning of the 4th inning, our pitcher Bake Reyenga couldn't keep his footing as it was pouring plus lightning so the game was stopped again.  Because San Marcos has their prom tonight, I guess they were willing to wait until Monday to play again.  Rumor has it that we may play in a very special place Monday!

I heard we would be playing at Minute Maid Park.
The thing about being an Indian is that you're an Indian, no matter what. It doesn't matter if you play soccer or a tuba, it doesn't matter if you're on the football team or the drill team, it doesn't matter if you lead the cheers or the jeers. You're still part of that "Honor, Pride, & Tradition."

Very much so. I was just wondering if you had heard the same. To be honest, when I first heard it, I didn't entirely believe it.

Other high school teams have played there before.  Nice to know that Drayton McClane is willing.  Would be great to see a football sized crowd show up.

I heard that the two coaches are getting together tomorrow morning at 8:00 am to determine and time and place.  Much as I'd love to go to Minute Maid, it seems a lot of money to maybe only play 4 innings (assuming we win, of course). Guess we'll know for sure tomorrow.  IF I know something for a fact, I'll post it.l

OK New rumor.  Game will not be at Minute Maid but may be in Bryan (A&M or where I don't know) at 3pm Monday.

Is Minute Maid the same size as High School fields?  Sure seems bigger to me.

OldEagle heard right! We are definitely playing at Texas A&M's Pat Olsen Field tomorrow at 3:00. They have a man on first and IF we lose (which I doubt) another game will follow game 2 after a 30 minute rest. We are going because I know a lot of people can't go because of work.  Please attend if you can go because the boys appreciate the support. If we win this series, we play Magnolia next and when we win that we play for state!!

The reason that we are not playing at Minute Maid is the field was too wet and couldn't be prepared in time for us to play.
